The Escaparate line is a special line that is for a select few retailers. The Escaparate, or “Showcase”, line which features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper is only available at Corona Cigar Company. I was lucky enough to get a sample to try.
Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect with this cigar. A repackaged “Gold” or something different?
The wrapper is nice and satiny to the touch with few visible veins and after I clipped it I noticed it had a perfect pre-light draw.
Once lit, I noticed the rich creamy coffee aroma emanating from the stick. The flavors were surprisingly sweet, with a hint of nuts, coffee and cream. There was an underlying woodiness, but no dryness on the tongue.
The burn was dead even down the entire length of the cigar. The draw was perfect; this was a well made cigar!

Towards the end, the coffee flavor intensified to a nice espresso finish. Overall i would call this mild-medium in body and in strength.
It wasn’t overly complex, but it was better than any other regular CAO cigar. I was fairly impressed with this cigar but would certainly balk at the high MSRP that the Escaparate cigars usually go for.
