OK, so this is basically the Criollo with a Maduro wrapper – I think. This is available at one shop, CAO’s “local” shop, Uptown’s Smoke Shop in downtown Nashville. I visited there after my tour of CAO HQs. The shop is beautiful, in fact it is the only CAO lounge as Uptown’s has been very loyal to the Ozgener’s from the very beginning.
The Six One Five is so named as it is… anyone?… the area code for Nashville, TN. It is available in 4 sizes – Robusto, Corona, Toro and the Churchill.
This review is for the corona. The cigar is very dark and toothy. The mottled wrapper is a bit rustic looking, but is formalized with a nice stylish band.
The draw is nice and even and it takes a light very well. One thing I notice at first is that it does not have that usual acrid first-light flavor I get from CAOs and Toranos. Good start so far!
The next few inches is fairly spicy, with leather and cedar notes and a bit of pepper and cocoa.
As I smoke it down, I begin to pick up a twang on the toungue (say that five times fast) that is reminiscent of many Pepin smokes. Personally I’m not a big fan of that, but many folks seem to love it.
As I finish the smoke, I can’t help but remark that this is probably one of CAO’s best Escaparate line, if not THE best cigar they make. It has a nice long finish, a good depth of flavor and very good construction and burn qualities. It was of course augmented by the good experience I had at Uptown’s. Next time you are in Nashville, check them and the cigar out!

Smoked the one you gave me yesterday and was blown away by the fact that there is a CAO this good. I really enjoyed it, although did not get the pepinesque flavors you experienced. Now I want more!

Wow. I have had 5 of the escaparate, and am always in the hunt for more, and this is the first I’ve heard about this, thing is I live in CT, how is there a way I can get these?
